Happy Birthday Ruby

Well my little Rubylish has turned the big 1! and what a party!!
An a 8hr BBQ in glorious sunshine, how will we top that in years to come?
Rich put together a swing set, which amazingly stayed in one piece the whole day despite the kids all trying to go the wrong way up the slide!! Ruby had a short snooze part way through the day but otherwise wandered around happily from guest to guest. She wasn't that fussed with the cake or the presents but did enjoy eating lots of grapes and strawberries!! (glad we left before nappy changing time!!)

IN THE NAME OF WORK ETHICS....what the?!

Librarian arrested in co-workers slaying
AMSAN ANTONIO — A 62-year-old librarian was arrested and charged with murder in the shooting death of a fellow librarian at a community college here.
Alan Godin, an adjunct librarian, allegedly walked into the library at Northeast Lakeview College on Monday afternoon and shot Devin Zimmerman, 37, to death, said school president Eric Reno.
Godin allegedly shot Zimmerman and then sat down and waited for police.
The men were co-workers, Zimmerman staffing the library during the day and Godin at night. There had apparently been some previous dispute about "work ethic," said Dan Pew, the acting chief of the Live Oak Police Department, which was assisting in the investigation.
Godin had worked part-time at the library since 2003. Zimmerman started working at the school last fall.
The campus, one of five Alamo Community Colleges around the city, has about 4,100 students.

Working hard for NO money!

So Tom better treat me right!!
The grass arrived and I managed to successfully turn a pile of turf and a patch of dirt into a lovely lawn. Took a few hours but Mum arrived half way through so I had an excuse to stop for a cold drink and a chat. I'm pretty pleased with it, hopefully it wont die off in the next few weeks!!

Breast Cancer Fundraiser Breakfast

A group of us headed off to Flemington Racecourse this morning at what felt like THE CRACK OF DAWN for a fundraiser breakfast. What a wonderful morning! Breakfast was delish, we got show bags of goodies, heard inspirational stories of survival as well as heartbreaking stories of loss. We laughed, we cried (fortunately mostly laughed) and Mandy Mac even won one of the raffle prizes. A great way to start the working day and a great cause!!
See a few quick snaps below: we got some ideas from the cast of Priscilla for possible "fishy" new uniforms and controlled ourselves not to start a bidding war when they raffled off the Firemen!!

Again Again Again?

Sunday 10.30am and I'm back again (in my PJs). The Webolution Worm has obviously been planted in the water at the library. I can't stay off this computer. For today's trick I have just added the 17 people who have started the webolution to my web updates so it lets me know when their blogs were last updated without me having to look at each one, pretty cool.

Bloody Webolution

It is frick'n 2.30am!! I am way to old to be sitting up on the pooter until this late! The webolution had got me in a Wavitational Pull...........HELP

ERGR GRASS

I WAS RIGHT! I was receiving subliminal messages while at Supergrass last week. The shop ordered the wrong grass for us. When we got there the staff hunted for our grass only to find the girl had ordered the wrong sort. We were all geared up to lay it today and now have to wait. On the plus side they are delivering it free but i'd still have rathered collect it today than have to do it one night next week!!

The mysterious moving blog

Have just created a new blog in Blogspot to replace the one in Wordpress.
I am not a happy lady, blogspot have cruddy templates but you can add more fun stuff "widgets" etc. Wordpress templates are much nicer but you have to upgrade ($$) to get access to fun stuff. Will ask KD to help me find other templates I can pinch form elsewhere!!

The Hello Morning @ The Espy

Went to The Espy to watch Matt tonight. The band were supposed to start at 9pm but were on "Matt time" so didn't get started until 10pm!! This wasn't their fault apparently the whole thing was running an hour behind. They had to rush through a shorter set in just 30mins but were great. They even had people up dancing...although not sure if that was the music or just a few St Kilda weirdos!!

Supergrass @ The Forum

Last night we saw Supergrass at The Forum (another of Tom’s selections) I LOVE the venue, it has a false sky ala the Hall at Hogwarts and the look & layout always reminds me of Brixton Academy in London but I have to admit I was a bit bored! I only recognised about 4 songs, my feet hurt, a girl whacked me in the guts and from my view the sign read either ERGR or GRASS most of the night. I hope that was not subliminial messages about our planned grass laying on the weekend.

The Futureheads @ The Corner

We were at The Corner in Richmond last night to see the futureheads. This was one of Tom’s choices but I actually enjoyed myself more than I thought! They were quirky, chatting & joking between songs. The only let down was someone stood near us letting stinky farts out into the darkness!! (ICK)

The Living End @ Queensbridge Hotel

On Thursday night I went to see The Living End at The Queensbridge Hotel. I know, I have seen them about 10 times but geez I love ‘em. The venue was slightly dodgy but as usual the band were great PLUS as it was near Crown I got ice-cream on the way back to the car!! (even though it was 11.30pm!) YAY
